TRIAL PICTURES BELOW

QED has developed a pipe wrap containing our unique Margel product. The idea being to apply Margel to the inner part of a tape and seal the tape over the pipe to be protected.

The initial devlopment began in early 2007, after extensive testing, the product was released for commerical trails in May 2008.

The picture below shows two trial patches before application to steel tubing, the metal has been exposed to represent new steel. (July 2007)

This photo shows the pipe wrap samples installed prior to exposure testing (July 2007)

This picture (below) shows the sample after exposure to the weather (UK climate) for 6 months (July 8th - December 7th 2007)

The next 2 pictures shows the sample being cut open to expose the steel, highlighting the corrosion of the steel with no protection and the protection of the steel with the sample patch applied. The protected metal showing has been coated with a mono-molecular coating of corrosion inhibitor.

Margel Migration Testing along length of Pipe

June - 2008

We are currently undergoing testing to demonstrate how Margel migrates along the length of a section of pipe, between the pipe and the outer tape. Pictures will be added from the results shortly.
